Canterbury Golf Club seeks to promote a friendly and relaxed atmosphere while maintaining a standard of dress, both on the course and in the clubhouse, which is appropriate to a private members' golf club. Members and visitors are expected to comply with the Dress Code at all times.
Golf clothing may be worn provided that it is dry and clean.
Jeans are acceptable, although they are not to be of the ripped variety. Tee shirts with slogans that may be offensive to others are not permitted. Sports attire other than golf clothing is not permitted.
Shoes, sandals or trainers are permissible. No golf shoes.
No hats or visors are to be worn in the clubhouse.
When using the dining room after 7pm, golfers must change out of the clothes that they have played golf in
Shirts (long or short sleeves) with collars, polo or turtle neck. Golf shirts designed to be worn without collars are also permitted. Shirts should be tucked into trousers at all times, unless designed to be worn outside.
Ladies may wear sleeveless shirts with collars or collarless shirts with sleeves.
Trousers (of any length) and shorts must be tailored, including plus twos or plus fours. No denim may be worn.
Any length of sports sock/liner can be worn with shorts. Dress socks are not permitted with shorts.
Ladies may wear tailored, cropped trousers and skirts.
Golf shoes with spikes or soft studs must be worn on the course.
Football, hockey or rugby-type shirts and shorts, singlets, tracksuits and leisure/shell suits.
Combat/cargo-style shorts or trousers.
Beachwear or flip flops.

The management and staff are authorised to enforce the dress code at all times. Individuals not observing the following rules will be asked to leave the premises. Members shall at all times be responsible for their guests.
